Come FLOW With Me

Three towns, 2 schools, 1 Show ~ FLOW Follies Presents Silly Sketches on the Complexities of Air Travel  by Deb Breslow

flowfollies2012Rehearsals are underway, sets are being designed, and advance tickets are available for the 2012 production of Come FLOW With Me, a musical comedy show created by FLOW Follies. Since its inception, FLOW Follies, a volunteer parent organization, has awarded almost $450,000 in scholarships to students in the Ramapo-Indian Hills community. Last year, $40,000 in scholarships were awarded to 50 students (25 from each high school). Join us on March 8, 9, 10, and 11, as RIH teachers, students, and parents set stage in a fictitious airport where they encounter the foibles of air travel.

Here’s what previous scholarship recipients have said:

“You are a terrific organization; the help that you give to graduating seniors is greatly appreciated.”
“I would like to thank you for your generous donation in helping me further my education in college. Every little bit helps, especially in the beginning.”
“Thank you to everyone associated with FLOW Follies. I feel honored to have received the scholarship.”
“When I heard my name announced that I would be receiving your scholarship, my heart lit up, your award has helped to ease my burden of paying for college.”

“The best part of being involved in a FLOW Follies production isn’t necessarily appearing on stage; it’s about the impressive scholarship program and the opportunity for the two district high schools to work together,” notes Linda Schwager, Mayor of Oakland and long-time supporter of FLOW Follies.

In order to be eligible for a scholarship, graduating seniors must be a friend of FLOW Follies ($25 membership) and have completed an application provided by their high school Guidance Department. This year,  a special raffle will be offered to senior students who buy a ticket and attend one of our four performances. At each show, two names will be drawn and a prize will be awarded.

Seventy students submitted artwork for out 2012 Playbill/Ad Journal Design Contest. The winner was Jake Morgan from Indian Hills.  He will receive 5 hours of community service + a $50 gift card.
