Babysitting Course


babysittingcchcChristian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff fosters health, healing, and wellness for all ages and is offering a babysitting course from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, June 27. Participants must be 12 years old or older, and the cost is $50. Payment must be received in advance by check. Pizza lunch will be provided. The course will be held in the Auditorium at 700 Mountain Ave. Participants will receive a CHCC certificate of completion and CPR card. Instructors are Elaine Peneno, RN, MPH, American Heart Association (AHA) CPR instructor, and Robert Ehlers, an emergency-medical technician and AHA CPR instructor.

Topics covered in the morning session include diapering and feeding an infant, age-specific and appropriate fun activities, child-care safety, basic first aid, what to do when the child is sick or injured, and how to handle common behavior problems. In the afternoon, participants will take the AHA Friends and Family CPR Course and will learn how to do CPR on adults, children, and infants, and learn what to do when someone is choking. Participants will receive an official AHA CPR book and CPR card.

Space is very limited, and registration is required. Once the call or email is received, a confirmation letter with a consent form will be sent. Once the check and consent form are received, confirmation of registration is complete.
