On the Job – January 7, 2015


policebuildingDECEMBER 26:  While on patrol, Officer Michael Griffin attempted to locate a vehicle that Franklin Lakes PD put out on a radio broadcast as an erratic driver on I-287. Officer Griffin located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in Wanaque, NJ which resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old Airmont, NY resident for Driving Under the Influence.  The male offender was processed and later released from custody to a family member with a court date set to appear in the Wanaque Municipal Court.  Officers Thomas Pianettini and Michael Catenacci assisted.

DECEMBER 26:  Officer Bart Pagerie investigated a complaint of an attempted theft of a snowmobile that was stored on Lakeview Terrace.  Information gathered for review by the Detective Bureau.

DECEMBER 27:  Officers Bryan Rowin and Bart Pagerie investigated a complaint of a possible burglary in progress by a resident of the Ramapo Park community. Upon arriving on scene two actors were located, a 53-year-old male resident of West Nyack, NY, and a 50-year-old female resident of Mahwah, NJ.  Both parties were found to have been inside the residence and claimed to be prospective home buyers.  The homeowner was contacted and stated that no one was to be on the property or inside the residence as no appointments were set up by his Realtor. Both offenders were taken into custody, served with Criminal Trespassing complaints and released on their own recognizances.

DECEMBER 29:  While attempting to serve a local resident with legal paperwork, Officers Bryan Rowin and Thomas Pianettini arrested a 35-year-old Oakland resident who drove a motor vehicle towards Officer Rowin and initially refused to stop when signaled to do so.  The offender was taken into custody shortly there after and transported into headquarters for processing.  The offender was charged with Obstruction and later released on his own recognizances.

DECEMBER 31:  While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin located an Oakland resident that was known to be a wanted person by the Bergen County Sheriffs Department walking along Ramapo Valley Rd.  The 43-year-old male was taken into custody, processed, and later released into the custody of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department for final disposition.  Officers Bart Pagerie and Joseph Noury assisted.

JANUARY 5:  Officer Michael Griffin investigated a walk- in complaint regarding an Oakland resident being the victim of identity theft.  The resident stated that he discovered his identity was compromised when he received a cell phone bill for an account he did not open or authorize as well as numerous reports of attempts to open lines of credit with various banks.  Report filed.

JANUARY 5:  While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin observed a 32-year-old resident of the Ramapo Lodge who was known to have an active criminal warrant for her arrest issued out of Maywood, NJ.  The offender was taken into custody without incident and during processing two additional criminal warrants were also located issued out of Fort Lee and Totowa, NJ.  The offender was unable to post bail and was transported to the county jail by the Fort Lee Police Department.
