April Special Events at the Oakland Public Library (Children’s Dept.)
The Oakland Garden Club will visit the Library on Thursday, April 21 from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. Oakland children, ages 5 & up, will be making a Spring Craft, which includes a Bird Bath! Special Reading Hours will be celebrated during National Library Week, April 10-16, 2016. The Principals of Heights, Dogwood Hill, and Manito Schools will read to their students in the Oakland Public Library’s story gallery. On Tuesday, April 12 from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m., Ms. Ciambra from Heights School will be the featured reader. Mr. Clark from Dogwood Hill School will read to his students on Wednesday, April 13 from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m. On Thursday, Mr. Silverstein from Manito School will be the Library’s guest reader. All students should check with their Schools for further details. The Children’s Dept. looks forward to the Principal Visits for our “Leaders are Readers!” program.
Acclaimed singer-songwriter, Teri Merliss, will present her special blend of imaginative stories, original songs, and audience participation on Friday, April 15 from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the Oakland Public Library’s story gallery. April Book Discussion at the Oakland Public Library
The Oakland Public Library Book Group meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:45 p.m. at the Library. The next meeting will take place on April 14, 2016.
