March Special Events at the Oakland Public Library (Children’s Dept.)

librarypic“Tail Waggin’ Tutors” is an opportunity for Oakland children, ages 5 & up, to read to a very lovable dog. Sadie, and her “Mom”, Donna, will visit the Library on Thursday, March 17 from 5:30 to 6:10 p.m. Daisy, and her “Mom”, Jean, will visit the Library on Tuesday, March 29 from 6:30 to 7:10 p.m. Both Sadie and Daisy are registered therapy dogs with Therapy Dogs International. Each child will have about ten minutes to read a favorite story to a dog. The program will be held in the Library’s story gallery. Acclaimed singer-songwriter, Teri Merliss, will present her special blend of imaginative stories, original songs, and audience participation on Friday, March 18 from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the Oakland Public Library’s story gallery. Computer Workshops at the Oakland Public Library

The Oakland Public Library will be holding seven Computer Workshops on Wednesdays from March 2nd through April 20th, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The workshops will be Zinio, Hoopla, Gmail 101, Facebook, Microsoft Word Basics Part One, Microsoft Word Basics Part Two, and Microsoft Excel Basics. March Book Discussion at the Oakland Public Library

The Oakland Public Library Book Group meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:45 p.m. at the Library. The next meeting will take place on March 10, 2016.
