May Special Events at the Oakland Public Library (Children’s Dept.)
A Mother’s Day Craft will be held on Thursday, May 5 from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. in the Pat Turnier Craft Room of the Oakland Public Library. Oakland children, ages 5 & up, are invited to turn paper into flowers as a gift for Mom. This is a small class, so participants should register early. (Children may need some assistance.) Acclaimed singer-songwriter, Teri Merliss, will present her special blend of imaginative stories, original songs, and audience participation on Friday, May 20 from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the Oakland Public Library’s story gallery. Computer Workshops at the Oakland Public Library
The Oakland Public Library will be holding seven Computer Workshops on Wednesdays from May 11th through June 22nd, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. The workshops will be Hoopla, Gmail 101, Introduction to the Internet, Facebook, Microsoft Word Basics Part One, Microsoft Word Basics Part Two, and Microsoft Excel Basics. The Oakland Library Book Group meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:45 p.m. at the Library. The next meeting will take place on May 12, 2016.
