policecaroldAPRIL 5: While on patrol Lt Douglas Eldridge and Officer Keith Docwra investigated a male and female party that were involved in suspicious activity by disposing of items into a storm drain which was later determined to be drug related. The male offender, a 30-year-old resident of Oakland, was subsequently found to be possession of Heroin and other drug related paraphernalia. The offender was arrested, processed and later released from custody with a court date set to later appear at the Bergen County Court House. Sgt Timothy Keenan assisted with the investigation.

APRIL 5: Detective Edward McDermott investigated a complaint of shoplifting which involved a 62-year-old female resident of Oakland at the Oakland Shop-Rite. The offender was arrested, processed and later released from custody with a court date set to later appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.

APRIL 12: While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin initiated a motor vehicle stop in front of Columbia Bank that resulted in the arrest of an Oakland resident for driving with a suspended driver’s license during a period of suspension due to multiple DUI convictions. The 53-year-old male was taken into custody, processed, and later released on $25,000 bail.

APRIL 14: While on patrol, Officer Luis Gaviria located a suspicious parked vehicle at the end of Lakeshore Dr that was found to be occupied by three adult males smoking marijuana. Officers Bryan Rowin and Stephen Broek responded to the scene and a 23-year-old male from Paterson, NJ, a 22-year-old male from Fairfield, NJ, and a 20-year-old male from Oakland were taken into custody. All three actors were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver of the vehicle also received multiple motor vehicle summonses as well as an additional criminal charge for unlawful possession of a weapon, a collapsible police baton, that was found within the vehicle. The actors were processed and later released on their own recognizance.

    Great, now we got junkies disposing their works in the storm sewers, only to end up in one of our lakes or in the Ramapo River.!
