September Programs at the Oakland Public Library

librarypicPreschool Story Time for children, ages three to five, will be held on Mondays from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. in the Oakland Public Library’s story gallery starting Monday, September 19, and ending December 12. This fall season will feature special sessions focusing on music and movement, as well as the more traditional story and craft time. Registration begins Tuesday, September 6.

Tots Library Club is an unstructured, early literacy experience for 0 to 24-month-olds and their caregiver. TLC will be held on Thursdays in the Oakland Public Library’s story gallery starting Thursday, September 22, and ending December 15. Come for playtime from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., and stay for a short 15-minute session of nursery rhymes, fingerplays, and songs! Registration begins Tuesday, September 6.

Terrific Two’s & Three’s! is a Story Time for two to three-year-olds and their caregiver. The sessions will be held on Fridays from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. starting Friday, September 30, and ending December 16. This fall season will feature special sessions focusing on music and movement, as well as the traditional story and craft time. Registration begins Tuesday, September 6.

“Tail Waggin’ Tutors” is an opportunity for Oakland children, ages 5 & up, to read to a very lovable dog. Two dogs, registered with Therapy Dogs International, will visit the Library once each month. Each child will have about ten minutes to read a favorite story to a dog. The first session will be held on Thursday, September 22 from 5:30 to 6:10 p.m. Sadie, and her “Mom”, Donna, look forward to listening to your stories. Registration begins Tuesday, September 6.

Acclaimed singer-songwriter, Teri Merliss, will present her special blend of imaginative stories, original songs, and audience participation on Friday, September 23 from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the Oakland Public Library’s story gallery. Oakland children, ages 2 & up, are invited to attend with a parent or caregiver. Registration begins Tuesday, September 6.
