The Oakland Environmental Commission invites all residents and groups to the “Team Up to Clean Up” Oakland’s Parks event on Saturday, April 23, 2016. Volunteers should assemble at Valley Middle School (located at 71 Oak Street) in the cafeteria beginning at 9:00am. From there, we will team up into six groups that will each be directed to one of Oakland’s parks. You will need to drive to and from the parks so please try to share rides. The cleanup will last until approximately 12:00pm The rain date for the event is Sunday, April 24.
We urge you to share this information with your members, students, employees and neighbors in the hope that the entire community will extend itself to make Oakland’s Park more beautiful on April 23rd and every day. This event is sponsored by the Clean Communities Grant and the Oakland Public Events Committee.
If you are interested in joining us, please register at www.MyGreenOakland.org. There will be light refreshments available in the morning at VMS and lunch for participants at Great Oak Park starting at 11:30am. If you are unable to join us on April 23rd, please help the Borough in its effort to clean up by not creating litter and also reminding those who may forget that littering is against the law.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, April 23rd.
