Rotary working to help Vererans’ orphans

The New Jersey Mission of Honor for Cremains of American Veterans recently gave a presentation at the Oakland/Franklin Lakes Rotary Club weekly meeting.

rotarylogoThe purpose of the New Jersey’s Mission of Honor for Cremains of American Veterans is to locate, identify and inter the orphaned and abandoned cremains of American veterans through the joint efforts of Veteran Organizations throughout New Jersey. To provide honor and respect to those who have served this country in time of peace and conflict.

With just a $250.00 donation Mission of Honor is able to purchase an urn to honorably inter these war veterans.  The corresponding military branch of the service will be placed on each urn for each veteran cremains that the Mission inters.

“Our club was more than happy to donate $1,400.00 to help the cause.” commented Club President Michael Hyatt.  “It is a tremendous program that is worthy of our donation.” added long time Rotarian and Oakland resident Joseph Russo.

President Michael Hyatt concluded that “The support of our many friends and devoted donors through the purchase of our BIG 50/50 and Mambo Italiano annual events make it possible for our club to seek out and carefully select programs that deserve our support.  We cannot thank everyone enough!’
