Barnstable Academy Celebrated National School Choice Week with Special Food Drive Event
Oakland, NJ – Barnstable Academy held a three-week Food Drive leading up to National School Choice Week. Barnstable’s Student Government researched a local organization in need of supplies and found The Jewish Family Services based out of Teaneck, NJ. Because their Food Pantry serves clients from every background and no one is ever turned away, Barnstable Academy conducted a school-wide competition by grade level and collected more than 1000 items for the cause.
“This event will feature our celebration and participation in National School Choice Week,” explained Lizanne Coyne, Director of Student Achievement. “Our students and their parents enthusiastically contributed to the Food Drive,” Coyne added.
“We are excited to have Barnstable Academy participate in National School Choice Week with this special event,” said Andrew Campanella, National School Choice Week president. “It is because of great events like this that National School Choice Week, in New Jersey and across the country, will break records as the largest and most influential celebration of educational opportunity in American history.”
