On January 15, 2011 Ptl. O’Neill was dispatched to Skyline Drive on a reported erratic driver. The vehicle, described as a Chevy Suburban, was located by the officer and later stopped on West Oakland Ave after it nearly struck a concrete median at the bottom of Skyline Drive . Upon speaking with the driver of the vehicle, a 59 year old Paterson , NJ resident, Ptl. O’Neill immediately observed signs of intoxication. Further questioning revealed that the driver was under the influence of several medications. Standardized field sobriety tests were conducted at the scene and the man was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence. A Drug Recognition Expert evaluation was conducted at headquarters by Ptl. Tim Keenan. Charges included DWI, careless driving, and failure to keep right. A January 2011 court date has been set in the Oakland Municipal Court.
On January 17, 2011 Ptl Catenacci investigated the report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the cul-de-sac of Tecumseh Trail with several juveniles inside. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of the four occupants for the possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Complainants for juvenile delinquency were lodged against each of the four individuals prior to their release. An additional charge for the possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle was lodged against the driver of the vehicle, a 17 year old Oakland resident. All complaints will be forwarded to the Bergen County Juvenile Court.
