On January 20, 2011 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Ptl. Rowin and Ptl. Gusterson were dispatched to a residence on Lakeshore Drive on a reported dispute. Officer Rowin’s investigation revealed that an argument ensued between a 19 year old male resident and his two parents. It was learned that the man’s parents had recently discovered that their son had stolen and pawned approximately $2000.00 worth of his mother’s jewelry and had taken approximately $400.00 in cash. Officer Rowin placed the man under arrest and conducted a search of his person. The search revealed the existence of two suspected marijuana cigarettes in his jacket pocket. Charges included two counts of theft and the possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Bail was set at $20,000.00 and the man was subsequently transported to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of posting bail.
On January 20, 2011 Ptl. Keenan and Ptl. Catenacci were dispatched to Walgreen’s on the report of a male in the store who presented a fraudulent prescription to the pharmacist. The officers’ investigation revealed that the 23 year old Kearny , NJ resident had provided a false name and address to the pharmacist and had presented a forged prescription for 120 pills of Oxycodone. He was placed under arrest by Ptl. Catenacci and transported to headquarters where he was charged with wrongful impersonation and uttering a forged document. Bail was set at $20,000.00 by the Hon. John Conte Jr., and the man was subsequently transported to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of posting bail.
