On February 26, 2011 at approximately 9:50 a.m. Ptl. Docwra conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle that was being operated with dark tinted windows and without a rear-mounted license plate. Upon the officer’s approach to the vehicle, he immediately detected the strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the driver and the vehicle’s passenger compartment. Further questioning resulted in consent to search the vehicle. Inside the vehicle’s passenger compartment, several marijuana “roaches” and a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana were located. The 20 year old Paterson , NJ resident was subsequently arrested and transported to HQ for processing. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of suspected marijuana in a motor vehicle. He was released ROR and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court. Lt. D. Eldridge and Ptl. Gusterson assisted.
On February 26, 2011 at approximately 9:54 p.m. Ptl. O’Neill approached an individual in front of a residence on West Oakland Ave. who was known by the officer to have an active warrant. Upon the officer’s approach to the individual, he observed him reach inside of his jacket and pull out a bottle of alcohol, then place it on the seat of a vehicle that he was standing next to. The officer recovered the partially consumed bottle of Schnapps from the vehicle and placed the 20 year old Oakland resident under arrest. He was transported to HQ and charged with the underage possession of alcohol and later released after posting $1500.00 bail on the outstanding warrant. He is due to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court in March, 2011.
