The legislative map for New Jersey is complete, and the story behind the redistricting can be read here. This is a political ritual looked forward to with the return of each census. Democratic and Republican loyalists meet to negotiate, compromise, and haggle over how to carve up New Jersey’s 566 municipalities for the election of state assembly representatives.
The 40th district which previously contained Franklin Lakes, Oakland, and Wyckoff – no more – as Oakland moves into the 39th district and the 40th gets some new faces.
