VFW Post 5702 Website Wins National Award

vfwwebsitePost 5702 Commander Steve Vreeland recently received notification from the Communications Department of National VFW Headquarters announcing that VFW Post 5702’s website had been chosen as the 2011 first-place winner in the Post/ District category. Judging was based on navigation, load time, design and overall content.

According to Commander Vreeland, “We owe a hearty thanks to Bob Lindabury, our web master and our very own Jeff McIntosh (Junior Vice Commander) for this award. Both of these individuals have worked hard to rebuild the web site. We are very proud of their work. This is the second time,” he continued, “that our site has won an award.”

Visitors to the Post 5702 website can find information about what Post 5702 does to help veterans, what services and programs the post offers to the communities it serves, as well as information about hall rentals and fund raising. By using the About Us tab and following the VFW for Students option, visitors to the site can discover the many programs Post 5702 offers to support education. An original short story in that section titled VFW Visit outlines what Post 5702 does locally and what the VFW does on a national level. By using the About Us tab and selecting the History/ Military History buttons, visitors can learn about the contributions that local residents made in the First and Second World Wars.
