Oakland Welcomes West Bergen Mental Healthcare

Oakland moms and their children recently gathered at Memorial Park in the borough to send a special greeting to the West Bergen Counseling Group. The new facility, located at 3 Post Road, provides individual and group therapy for adults and children.

The welcome was spearheaded by Oakland resident Robin M. Kazmierczak, Esq., who is also First Vice President of West Bergen’s Board of Trustees. The welcoming committee included children: Rex and Gates Councilor; Karleigh and Jayne Kazmierczak; Katie Durkin; Isabella Sorce; Kayla Yankauskas and Anthony Sorce. Moms are: Marisa Councilor, Marci Sorce, Robin Kazmierczak, Nancy Durkin, Caron McCormick and Alice Yankauskas.

Established in 1963, West Bergen Mental Healthcare provides help to more than 2,600 individuals, in need, each year. Two other West Bergen centers are located at 120 Chestnut Street, Ridgewood and One Cherry Lane, Ramsey. “The new Oakland site was a logical choice”, Ms. Kazmierczak explained, ”given the demographics of West Bergen’s clients and the wish to provide proximity and convenience.” The satellite office is located at the intersection of major routes, including 208, 287 and 202.

Recently, West Bergen’s Board of Trustees formally announced the launch of a $10 million building campaign for an additional and distinctive center to be located in Oakland. The new building, along with the Ridgewood and Ramsey sites, will propel West Bergen far into the future and enable the Agency to double the number of clients served within five years.

West Bergen will host an Open House at the West Bergen Counseling Group, 3 Post Road, Oakland, on Sunday, October 5 from 1 to 3 p.m. The public is invited to tour the facility and enjoy refreshments. Please RSVP by September 25 to Pat or Chrissie at (201) 444-3550.
