On June 24, 2012 while returning from the Bergen County Jail and traveling on Route 208 northbound, Officers Docwra and Kern conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 208 at the Russell Ave. exit. Beginning on Rt 208 in Fair Lawn, through a construction zone in Hawthorne and continuing into Wyckoff , the officers witnessed two vehicles racing as they weaved through traffic, tailgated several vehicles and traveled in excess of 100 m.p.h. The two drivers, a 27 year old male resident of Franklin Lakes , and a 20 year old female resident of Paramus , were issued numerous motor vehicle summonses by PO Docwra. The charges included driving with a suspended driver’s license, speeding (100 m.p.h in a 55 m.p.h. zone), reckless driving, racing on a highway, improper passing, failure to signal lane changes and failure to wear seat belts. An initial court date has been scheduled for July 18, 2012.
On July 7, 2012 as a result of an anonymous citizen’s complaint, Sgt. Sanzari and Ptl. Keenan charged two Oakland residents with the unlawful possession and use of fireworks on Morningstar Lane . The officers responded to the residence and witnessed an extravagant display of fireworks being ignited by a partygoer which resulted in hundreds of fireworks being seized as evidence. The 57 year old homeowner was charged with a petty disorderly persons offense for the unlawful possession of fireworks. A 23 year old guest of his who is responsible for igniting the fireworks in the officers’ presence was charged with the unlawful use of fireworks. Both individuals were released without incident and later served with copies of their respective complaints. They are scheduled to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court on July 12, 2012 at 9:00. Ptl.
