Oaklander Arrested in Wyckoff Beating


jesse_arrestWyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox announced the arrest of the fourth and final suspect in the alleged robbery and baseball bat beating of a man lured to a school yard by his ex-girlfriend.

Jesse Moscatello, 11 Spear Street, Oakland, age 20; was arrested by Sgt. Michael Ragucci and Det. Sgt. Michael Musto following an extensive investigation of the individuals involved in the July 26 attack. Moscatello turned himself in at police headquarters with an attorney.

Previously, Wyckoff residents Margaux Tocci and her boyfriend Daniel Chaupiz, and Waldwick resident Samer Saleh were all charged with robbery, assault and theft. Chaupiz remains incarcerated in the Bergen County Jail. Tocci and Saleh have posted bail and been released from jail.

Moscatello was charged by Sgt. Ragucci with robbery, assault and theft and released under $25,000 bail. The criminal charges against all of the suspects are first degree crimes that will be referred to Bergen County Superior Court.

Chief Fox praised the investigative work of the officers of the Wyckoff Police Department who put significant man-hours into fully investigating this crime. In particular, the efforts of Det. Sgt. Joseph Soto and Sgt. Michael Ragucci who were the lead officers through the investigation.
