In just one week, students at Barnstable Academy of Oakland raised more than $1,000 for the Food Bank of New Jersey to support Hurricane Sandy Relief efforts in the community. The photo is of the students this week delivering their generous donation check made out for $1504 to the food bank.
The Food Bank of New Jersey, as Chair of New Jersey Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, is helping to coordinate relief efforts with FEMA, Red Cross, Salvation Army & others. This includes:
-Distribution of more than 200,000 lbs of food each day to families facing loss and rebuilding after Hurricane Sandy.
-Collecting non-perishable food for displaced families
