CHRISTOPHER J. FARRELL NAMED CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
AT WEST BERGEN MENTAL HEALTHCARE
Christopher J. Farrell, Ridgefield Park, has recently been appointed West Bergen’s Chief Development Officer. In announcing the new post, Michael J. Tozzoli, West Bergen’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “All of us at West Bergen are so pleased to have an individual of Mr. Farrell’s caliber join our team. His appointment reflects an important transition occurring in West Bergen’s Development Department.”
Noted mental health advocate, Philip E. Wilson, LCSW, has recently indicated that he will be retiring at the end of 2014. Mr. Wilson began his career with West Bergen in 1980 and has served as CEO and most recently as Chairman. “Over the past three decades, he has played a pivotal role in the tremendous growth that the Agency has experienced”, Mr. Tozzoli continued. “It is only through his vision, perseverance and spirit that thousands of people have been able to receive the help they so desperately need.”
In preparation for Mr. Wilson’s retirement as well as plans to expand into different areas of philanthropy, West Bergen has named Chris Farrell to lead its fundraising efforts. Mr. Farrell joins Carol Cohen, Director of Development, and her team.
Mr. Farrell brings to West Bergen nearly 25 years of fundraising and capital campaign experience, working for educational and healthcare organizations in the NY/NJ metropolitan area. He most recently served as Director of Major Gifts at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson. Prior to that post, he was the Director of Philanthropy at The Valley Hospital Foundation in Ridgewood and also served as Chief Advancement Officer at Iona Preparatory School in New Rochelle, NY. He is a member of the Association of Healthcare Professionals and Kiwanis International. Mr. Farrell received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Fordham University.
