LAND PRESERVATION PRESENTATION
Please join us for a free presentation on Land Preservation on Wednesday October 2, at 7pm. The Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC) will be talking about Open Space Stewardship and creating Walkable/Bikeable Communities. Learn how to better manage your town’s preserved open space, establish an environmentally friendly trails’ network, protect and manage trees and woodlands, or deal with invasive species and restore habitat. Also, examine ways to develop facilities and programs that improve bike/pedestrian opportunities. Learn how to plan walking/biking infrastructure, walk-to-school programs and use tools to increase pedestrian safety.
This program is important to all those involved in community planning, such as town council members, planning boards, zoning boards and environmental commissions. It also has valuable information for anyone, including parents, high school and college students, interested in environmental planning in their community.
The event is being sponsored by the Environmental Commissions of Franklin Lakes, Oakland & Wyckoff. It will be held at the Wyckoff Public Library: Shotmeyer Room, located at 200 Woodland Avenue. Please direct any questions to oaklandec@gmail.com.
