October at the Library


October Special Events at the Oakland Public Library

autumnwreathThe Oakland Garden Club will visit the Library on Thursday, October 10 from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m.  Oakland children, ages 5 and up, will make autumn wreaths from nature’s gifts, such as pine cones, silks, and seeds in the Pat Turnier Craft Room.  Registration is required for the wreath craft, and begins Tuesday, September 24.

Acclaimed singer-songwriter, Teri Merliss, will present her special blend of imaginative stories, original songs, and audience participation on Friday, October 18 from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the Oakland Public Library’s story gallery.  Oakland children, ages 2 ½ and up, are invited to attend with a parent or caregiver.  Registration is required for “Sing Along with Teri Merliss”, and begins Tuesday, October 1.

Oakland students, grades 6 and up, are invited to join us for Teen Fridays from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. in the Oakland Public Library.  The Fall schedule is as follows:  September 20, October 4, October 18, November 15, December 6, and December 20.  A variety of crafts, activities, and celebrations will be offered during this session.  No registration is necessary.  Please call the Library for more information on any of these Teen Friday programs at 201-337-5236.

ART SALE Saturday, October 5th from Noon to Two at the Oakland Library

Please join the Fundraising art sale at the Library by local artist Roy Wright Jr.  100% of the proceeds go to the New Friends of the Library to help the library purchase what they need. All painting are modestly priced.
