Oakland, NJ – Northern New Jersey’s leading no-kill animal shelter, RAMAPO-BERGEN ANIMAL REFUGE, INC., hires social justice attorney as part of shelter reorganization and planned expansion effort.
Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. (RBARI) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Megan Boyle, Esq. to the position of Executive Director. Ms. Boyle, a licensed attorney with extensive executive-level experience working on both domestic and international non-profit organizations, previously held the position of COO for the Modest Needs Foundation, as well as worked in consulting capacities for UNICEF, DESA and the United Nations Human Rights Commission.
As Executive Director, Ms. Boyle will oversee all shelter staff, including RBARI’s newly hired veterinarian, Dr. Bonnie Wong, recently appointed shelter and volunteer managers, Lori McGahan and Frannie D’Annunzio and a staff of 29. Ms. Boyle’s responsibilities will also include playing an integral role in both individual and corporate fundraising as well as driving increased shelter awareness as it embarks on a capital campaign towards a planned shelter expansion. Designed to be a green facility, the shelter addition will enable RBARI to help save more animal lives from the immediate area, and enhance community efforts and education around animal welfare.

Ms. Boyle has a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and was part of the Honors Exchange program at Oxford University, Trinity College. She resides in Pompton Plains, NJ with her daughter and their beloved dog, Bella.
