Letter to the Editor – Ronnie Levine

To The Editor:

lettertotheeditorWith two successive Art Shows to their credit, the New Friends of the Oakland Public Library are busily preparing for their 3rd Annual Show and Sale.  For the first time, this year’s Show will be a “Week-End” event, with a Friday evening, March 28th private reception for the artists, their guests and current members of the New Friends of the Oakland Public Library.  10 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours on Sat., March 29th, and 12 to 5 p.m. hours on Sunday, March 30th, will provide greatly expanded opportunities for visitors to see the outstanding works of over 35 talented artists.  Familiar and popular artists, such Roberta Oliver, Gerry Bird, “Jerry Winnick, Sydney Roberts, Peggy Dressel, Pam Leggate, and Siegi Lehmann, will be joined by newcomers, “Bud” Endress, Margie Jordan, and Sylvia Taylor (among others)all displaying framed and unframed works of varying sizes, differing media, and affordable prices.

The New Friends’ Art Shows have always offered “something for everyone.”  For the artists – the show provides a venue for displaying their work.  For the public – the show provides an opportunity to view, appreciate and purchase original art work that is perfect for their tastes and homes.  For the Oakland Public Library, the show generates funds used to cover a growing number of community based programs.  Admission is free and music and refreshments add to the festivities.  Prior shows received widespread support and praise.  We hope to see you at this year’s “bigger and better than ever” show.

Sincerely,

Ronnie Levine
