Oakland, Thank You for your support. I promise you I will work as hard these next four years as I did the previous four.
Congratulations to Councilman Chris Visconti and Councilman-elect John Biale for their victories this evening. I look forward to working with both of them as well as the entire council in the years to come.
I would also like to congratulate my running mate Joshua Lurie as well as Brian Tully for their hard work and dedication to make our town better. Oakland has a bright future with people like Brian and Joshua offering their services to this wonderful town. I have been involved in political races where I did not win; I empathize with them and know they should hold their heads high for putting themselves out there to fight for what they believe in.
I would like to especially thank Pat Pignatelli. Pat and I have known each other a long time and have worked very well together over the years. I am sure Pat would agree, it is difficult to be involved in an opposing campaign with someone you genuinely like. I thank Pat for his service, his generosity and his friendship. Pat is a wonderful family man and someone that has given a lot to Oakland.
Now it’s time to put away all the political signs and political banter. We are all neighbors and friends wishing only what is best for our “village”. Thank you again. ~Linda Schwager
