Nicholas Giordano of Oakland, NJ appeared on “Teen Kids News” this weekend. The interview included his parents who expressed great pride in Nicholas’ concerts for charities, especially for the Make-A-Wish Foundation NJ . Also included in the segment was his guitar teacher who believes the young Oaklander’s talent can take him anywhere.
Nicholas has not decided if the guitar will lead him to a professional career in music, but knows it will always play an important role in his life. The personable young man, while continuing to expand his musical skills, also has the common priorities of school and studies. Displaying a self-deprecating sense of humor, Nicholas commented during the interview how fellow students at his new school suggested he needed to cut his nails. Obviously the suggestions were withdrawn when it became aware of what those hands can do with a guitar.
Recently, Nicholas played at Classical Night at our local high school where the proceeds benefited Eva’s Kitchen and Habitat for Humanity. Back when he was only eleven, he raised $6,000 for Tomorrows Children’s Fund music therapy program. The performance helped purchase drums, guitars, amplifiers, microphones and the like for the music therapy program. Nicholas’ musical talent and passion positively influenced the children. Many began playing instruments as a fun way to express themselves and deal with their pain. The recent interview on television brought attention to the various charities he has assisted since “the early years”, and the personal satisfaction Nicholas gets from using his talent and skill to help raise funds for worthy causes.
Bravo!
