Oakland Recreation Commission Unveils New Recreation Website

recwebsiteThe Oakland Recreation Commission is unveiling their new website on Friday August 31st. The new web address is www.OaklandRec.org; the old website will direct internet users to this new site for the time being. The old site was created in 2006 by dedicated and hard working volunteers, but by today’s standards, although functional, was very cumbersome for the administrators. The new site uses 2012 technology, making it user friendly, attractive and necessary in the ever changing world of the recreation parent.

The Sports Association of Oakland financed the entire venture, while Sports Association member Caron McCormick and her husband Charlie McCormick, both Oakland small business owners of Cicero Designs, created the entire web site. The Oakland Recreation Commission is proud to continue to rebuild and improve upon the recreation infrastructure with the goal of using no tax-payer dollars.

What a wonderful website. Too bad the borough couldn’t take the lead from the recreation commission and create a nice and functional webiste.
