Roberta MacEwan Austin, 87, died November 21, 2014 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida. Roberta was born in Trenton, New Jersey and had been a resident of Vero Beach, Florida for 38 years, coming from Oakland, New Jersey. She had a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Connecticut and a Master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. She was a kindergarten teacher, a devoted wife and mother, and a loyal friend to many. She will be remembered for her kind and loving nature.
Survivors include her daughter, Rdell Austin Hudgins, of Palm City, FL, sons Robert Austin of Vero Beach and Jeffrey Austin of Ft Pierce, FL; 5 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, George W. Austin Jr., in 2005.
