VFW Post 5702 Sends Packages to Troops
As part of a continuing effort to support active duty veterans, the membership of VFW Post 5702 is currently supporting three military units serving in Afghanistan.
Individuals, organizations, and businesses wishing to assist Post 5702 in this effort can purchase or collect supplies and drop them off at the post (located at the corner of Pulis and Franklin Avenues in Franklin Lakes) any Monday evening between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. We are looking to ship the following items:
Boxed Cookies Crackers
Beef Jerky Nuts
Peanut Butter Tooth Paste/ Tooth Brush
Hard Candy Powdered Drinks
Disposable Razors Deodorant (non-aerosol)
The US Postal Service will not allow us to ship any liquids (shampoo, mouthwash), aerosols or anything flammable. Monetary donations to purchase supplies or defray shipping costs are also welcome.
If you know a veteran who is currently deployed overseas and would like us to ship a package to them, please contact Post 5702 via e-mail at OCSQD785@ AOL.com. Please identify your relationship to the veteran in your e-mail (Mom, Dad, Uncle, Friend, etc.), and make sure you include the veteran’s military address.
