‘Vicalicious’ Sweet 16 is a Party with a Purpose
“Victoria Marino, Ho Ho Kus Teen raises money for Julia’s Butter?y Foundation”
Sixteen year old Victoria Marino of Ho Ho Kus is de?nitely sweet, sharing her Sweet 16 Celebration with Julia’s Butter?y Foundation. Victoria’s Masquerade Ball extravaganza, affectionately nick-named “Vicalicious”, was recently held at Portobello’s in Oakland. Victoria says she did not feel the need to receive gifts since she was already so fortunate to be able to have the gift of her “Vicalicious” Masquerade Ball so instead the teen decided to ask for donations for Julia’s Butter?y Foundation in lieu of gifts.
The Marino family has been involved with the 501 (C) 3 registered charity which provides ?nancial assistance to terminally and chronically ill children and their families, for years, so it was a natural ?t for Victoria to select the foundation as her charity of choice. Florence Marino, Victoria’s mom, says “we are so proud of our daughter for giving back to her community while having a fun time”. Her efforts and the bash raised nearly $5,000.00 bene?tting these children who will receive assistance, for needs not covered by medical insurance, including therapies, rent and utility assistance. “We are so proud of Victoria for taking the initiative to give back to the community and spread the work of the foundation, states Christine Callahan, president of the foundation. Victoria’s efforts will affect positive change in the lives of many families in New Jersey and within the tristate area”..
