An important message from Chief Kasper, Oakland Police Department
During the past several weeks there have been reports from other area police departments involving cases of person(s) attempting to lure children into their vehicles. Reports from Wayne and Dumont , bear little or no consistencies with one another. Reports from Montvale and Allendale are somewhat consistent though they have not been positively linked.
The Oakland Police Department has received no similar reports of this type of activity. However, we ask all parents and students alike, to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity of this or any other nature to the Oakland Police Department immediately. In reporting any suspicious activity, please attempt to provide us with as much information as possible to include description(s) of the person(s) involved as well as any vehicle they may be operating to include the make, model, color and license plate/state if at all possible as well as the location of the occurrence. Please, if you see something, report it!
