Thanks to the entire Oakland community for supporting the First Annual Art Show sponsored by the New Friends of the Oakland Public Library. Over 300 visitors attended the show, which provided a lovely venue through which local artists were able to display their work. Thanks to the talents of the artists, and the support of the community, the Show raised more than $1,000 that will be used to fund additional cultural programs at the library. The New Friends would also like to thank the local businesses that supported the show. We very much appreciate ShopRite’s generous donation of delicious refreshments, and Riverside Nursery’s contribution of beautiful pots of mums.

It was a very nice show. I was impressed with the talent of the local artists. It was also nice to meet friends and neighbors there too. I hope they do this again next year.
