Coach Guad Recognized

Mike Guadagnino was recently recognized for his commitment and efforts for the Recreation Baseball Program. Without volunteers like Mike these programs would not be possible. The Oakland Journal extends congratulations and gratitude to Coach Guad. Below is the thank you from all those involved in the program.

Mike Guadagnino,

coachguadawardOn behalf of your Recreation Baseball Managers and Coaches, Travel Baseball Managers and Coaches, Coordinators and Support Staff, we want to thank you for everything you have done for this great program since you took the reins!

Prior to your vision, our program went from a one of constant chaos and confusion – and we all remember those days – to one of the best managed recreation baseball programs in the state.

We all remember the days of our baseball uniforms being a “Fruit of the Loom” T Shirt, and Hats with an iron-on patch and not to mention the socks that never matched with-in each team. To now all of our boys sport Authentic MLB uniforms including  hats, shirts and socks, right down to the matching gray pants. We remember the days of no safety on-deck cages, gulley’s as infields, backstops with holes and let’s not forget losing baseballs “in the infield” to all the high grass.   We now celebrate our minors and major league World Series, our AAA double elimination tournament, a parade that has become an Oakland rite of spring, in-town All Star games that brings the town together for celebration as never before, a first rate travel baseball program, new scoreboards and a most importantly a VERY accessible baseball commissioner.

Mike – we all have been by your side since the day you took over- so we all got to see the changes first hand!

We will always be grateful for the countless hours you spend managing the program, the countless hours you spend on the phone and with email to make sure things are being done properly – to the pristine fields you helped get refaced over the years!

We could be singing your praises for days on end, and it would never be enough to thank you for everything you have done for our boys and their families.

As long as you are here….you will always have our undivided support!

Best Always,
