Crash Course on DWI

With proms and graduations comes parties, and unfortunately sometimes teen drinking. To drive home the point about the perils of drinking and driving, a DWI accident was staged at Indian Hills High School. Participating in the drill were the Oakland Fire Dept, First Aid Squad, Police, and the Wyckoff First Aid Squad, and a hearse. Yes, a hearse. The finale was designed to create a somber and sober reminder of the realities of drunk driving, including fatalities. Student volunteers acted out the scene, playing the parts of the injured, complete with panic, screams of pain, and a DWI arrest. Synthetic blood and injuries added to the realism.

The Valley Hospital dedicated a Mobile Intensive Care Unit, staffed by two of its full-time paramedics. One of these medics is even in one of your photos. I felt it necessary to point this out since your article failed to mention that the Valley Hospital supported this event as well.
Thanks for pointing this out. And thanks to The Valley Hospital.
