The DEP has given the town permission to fix the C-1 stream that runs through the park. Anyone who has been following the park’s development, understands that the health of the stream is important to all aspects of development, including the skate park, great lawn etc. The project can begin, but no machinery is permitted in the work, it all has to be done “by hand”.
The Stream correcting party/project will be on Saturday June 21st; meeting by 9:00am in the back of the bowling alley parking lot.
The Park Committee needs: volunteers, 2 pick up trucks where they can place and dump debris; volunteers with hip waders who would be willing to walk in the shallow stream to help de-snag; shovels, hand saw and loppers. All volunteers will need to wear gloves and dress appropriately. Tick and mosquito spray will be supplied. All interested please contact Mike Guadagnino at CoachGuad@aol.com.
