On Saturday, July 13, Crystal Lake Beach Club in Oakland hosted a special event called Heroes On The Water for wounded veterans.
Heroes on the Water is a national organization that serves wounded warriors by taking them kayaking and fishing in the outdoors as a way for them to relax, rehabilitate and reintegrate into society. This mission is carried out by volunteers who operate local HOW chapters across the United States. Special recognition to Oakland resident and Indian Hills High School student, Sean Torpey, age 15, who organized this event for Heroes on the Water of NJ.
