In the winter of 2011, I took the challenge from Mayor Linda Schwager to join the Oakland Communications Commission for a three year term. In April 2012, I edited and produced, my first edition of what I believed was a new and improved CrossRoads Newsletter.
My first edition was delivered in full color on professional glossy paper containing four more pages of valuable, and always current, Borough information. It was essential for me to work as hard as I could, to make sure that the Crossroads was both published on-time as well as on-budget. The best part was that we were able to deliver the new and improved publication for less cost than previous editions; something that makes me very proud.
I am grateful for having the opportunity to serve as a volunteer member of the O.C.C. in the capacity of editor of the Borough Newsletter, the CrossRoads, these past three years. However, I have decided to move on to other volunteer projects; but I would like to take this moment to thank the current and former members of the O.C.C. and the Borough Council and Staff for their continued support and editorial contributions.
I proudly pass the torch to the next group of volunteers of the O.C.C. and look forward to catching up on Borough News for many years to come.
