McGuire Awarded Appointment

McGUIRE APPOINTED TO NATIONAL SHERIFF’S ASSOCIATION’S HOMELAND SECURITY AND CONGRESSIONAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEES

leomcguire2Hackensack – The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the appointment of Sheriff Leo McGuire of Oakland, NJ to the National Sheriff’s Association’s ‘Congressional Affairs’ and ‘Homeland Security’ committees.

“This is an enormous honor and a humbling responsibility,” said Sheriff McGuire. “Since taking office I have made every effort to enhance security at the facilities under my care. My appointment to the NSA’s Homeland Security committee is a unique opportunity to share what I have learned with my counterparts around the nation and bring some of their knowledge back here to Bergen. I have also had the pleasure of forging solid relationships with many of New Jersey’s talented roster of legislators down in Washington. I hope to use those friendships to more ably represent the needs of law enforcement and people we serve as a member of the Congressional Affairs committee.”

The National Sheriff’s Association has been representing the needs of our country’s 3,085 Sheriff’s Offices for more than 65 years. It is dedicated to promoting professionalism throughout the law enforcement community and ensuring that its members have the tools and knowledge necessary to do their jobs. The committees are next scheduled to meet during the National Sheriff’s Association 2010 Winter conference on January 20th in Washington, DC.
