The Oakland Newcomers and Neighbors Club members and their children recently visited the Oakland Care Center to bring some Valentine’s Day cheer to the residents. It was a fun day for both the kids and seniors. The seniors helped the children with their Valentine crafts. After the children finished they thoughtfully gave their creations to the residents of the Care Center to brighten their rooms. The Newcomers and Neighbors Club often visits the Care Center around holidays. The trick or treat, Sing carols, color eggs and more. It is a great way for children to learn about giving back to the community in a fun and caring way. The Club always welcomes new members.
The Oakland Newcomers and Neighbors Club members brought their children to the local firehouse to learn about fire safety and prevention. Thanks to the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department for sharing their time and expertise. The kids had a great time!
