Oakland Flood Victims Receive $5,000 Worth of Painting Relief!

Spectrum Painting Gives Back! Oakland Flood Victims Receive $5,000 Worth of Painting Relief!

paintitproud1On Saturday, May 12th, Spectrum Painting in Wayne, NJ held their 1st Annual “Paint it Proud” Charity Event. The Palumbo’s, Owners of ServPro of Paramus, nominated the Hans family of Oakland, who won the $5,000 of free painting. While Michelle & Michael Hans are accustomed to water in their basement, Hurricane Irene was the 2nd flood last year that infringed on their living space. Michelle & Michael had finished rebuilding their home only weeks before Irene hit.  Irene brought approximately 2 feet of water onto the main level, flooding out the kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedrooms in addition to their destroyed basement.  Their home was condemned and they and their five young children were forced to leave. Winning the “Paint it Proud” event could not have come at a better time to get the family back in their “new” home by summer.

paintitproud2The entire Spectrum team spent all day Saturday painting the complete 1st floor of the Hans’ home. Spectrum was so happy to be able to give back to the community and help such a deserving family!  We would like to thank our sponsors – Seela’s Paint, Fast Forward Unlimited, Benjamin Moore, Junior’s Pizza and Manhattan Bagel for donating their services and materials, helping to create such a fantastic event!
