On March 22, 2012 as a result of a motor vehicle stop for failing to signal a turn on Ramapo Valley Road , Ptl. Broek arrested an 18 year old Upper Saddle River resident for the possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with the possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle prior to his release. An initial court appearance has been scheduled in the Oakland Municipal Court.
On March 30, 2012 officers were dispatched to investigate a reported motor vehicle crash involving two parked cars on McNomee Street . The officers’ investigation revealed that the driver, a 19 year old Oakland resident, had struck one of the vehicles involved and attempted to flee the scene when he struck the other vehicle involved, which was parked a short distance away. Officers suspected that he had been operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and requested that he perform some standardized field sobriety tests. He was subsequently arrested and transported to headquarters where he submitted samples of his breath for chemical testing Charges included D.W.I., D.W.I. within 1000’ of a school, reckless driving, failure to keep right, and leaving the scene of an accident. Sgt. Sanzari, Ptl. Docwra and Ptl. Harvey investigated.
On March 31, 2012 as a result of a motor vehicle crash involving a parked car on Crooked Hill, Ptl. Noury arrested a 21 year old Ringwood resident and charged her with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving. She was later released into the custody of a friend and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.
