On the Job – August 15, 2012


dwiskullOn August 3, 2012 as a result of a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Hickory Drive and Dogwood Drive , Ptl. Broek arrested a 38 year old Oakland resident for driving under the influence of alcohol. The officer’s observations within the vehicle led to the finding of an open container of alcohol in the center console as well.  He was arrested and charged with DWI, DWI in a school zone, failure to inspect and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.  After submitting samples of his breath for chemical testing, he was released into the custody of a friend.

On August 7, 2012 Ptl. Kern was alerted by a concerned citizen that a woman appeared to be asleep behind the wheel of her vehicle while stopped at the intersection of Ramapo Valley Road and West Oakland Ave.   After awakening the driver, he determined that she was under the influence of alcohol and subsequently placed her under arrest for DWI.  She was transported to HQ where she submitted samples of her breath for chemical analysis.  She was later released into the custody of a friend and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.

On August 7, 2012 Ptl. Gary Fiore charged a 19 year old Oakland resident with the possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and the possession of five hypodermic syringes after responding to her Oakland home.  She was released on her own recognizance and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.  The charges will ultimately be referred to the Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack , NJ .
