On the Job – August 19, 2014


opdonthejobAUGUST 11:  Officer Ryan O’Keefe investigated a reported burglary to a vehicle parked on Calumet Avenue.  The complainant reported that multiple items had been removed from the vehicle.  Report taken and matter forwarded to the Detective Bureau.

AUGUST 11:  A resident from Spruce Street responded to headquarters to report being a victim of credit card fraud after she was notified by her card’s issuer that a suspicious purchase was made at a store in New York.  Officer Daniel Kern handled the initial investigation.  Report taken and matter forwarded to the Detective Bureau.

AUGUST 12:  While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin initiated a motor vehicle stop on Skyline Drive that resulted in the arrest of a Wanaque resident for eleven active traffic and criminal warrants issued from multiple jurisdictions.  The warrants were all issued in the name of a Mahwah, NJ business that the offender was the owner of.  The 61-year-old male was taken into custody, processed, and later released on bail.

AUGUST 14:  A resident on Skyline Drive reported that his house was burglarized and that the offender had just fled the residence in a small compact car.  Chief Edward Kasper, along with Officers Gary Fiore, Thomas Pianettini, and Michael Catenacci responded to the scene.  A follow-up investigation led to the arrest of a 25 year old Wayne, NJ resident later that day.  He was located at his residence and taken into custody without incident. He was charged with burglary and attempted theft and remanded to the Morris County Jail after being connected to several outstanding burglaries in Morris County.

AUGUST 15:  As a result of a civilian complaint regarding an erratically driven vehicle, Officer Gary Gusterson arrested a 37-year-old resident of Oakland for Driving Under The Influence.  The offender was arrested, processed, and later released to an acquaintance with a pending court date set in the Oakland Municipal Court.

AUGUST 16:  While on patrol Officer Stephen Broek checked on a suspicious vehicle that was improperly parked and running in a local businesses parking lot, with a male actor slumped over in the driver’s seat.  As a result of the interaction, Officer Broek arrested a 61-year-old male resident of Bloomingdale, NJ for Driving Under The Influence.  The offender was arrested, processed, and later released to an acquaintance with a pending court date set in the Oakland Municipal Court.
