On the Job – August 21


jailOn August 7, 2011 Ptl. O’Keefe and Ptl. Catenacci were dispatched to a residence on Lakeshore Drive to investigate the report of a girl screaming and two men arguing in the area.  The officers located a highly intoxicated man who immediately confronted the officers and began to yell profanities at them. In the presence of the officers, the 19 year old Dorothy, NJ resident turned and slapped the arm a young lady who tried to approach him and pushed a friend of his down a small flight of stairs.  The officers attempted to place the man under arrest and he immediately began to resist them by punching and kicking at the officers.  He was eventually subdued and placed under arrest. He was charged with two counts of simple assault, two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest and underage drinking.  Bail was set at $10,000 by the Hon. John Conte Jr. and the man was subsequently transported to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of posting bail.

On August 8, 2011 Ptl. O’Neill and Ptl. Docwra were dispatched to the area of Laura Lane and Long Hill Road to investigate a noise complaint.  The officers located several individuals in the area who had just left a house party at a residence on Long Hill Road .  Upon speaking with the 18 year old resident, the officers located several open containers of alcohol and various pieces of drug paraphernalia in plain view at the residence.  It was determined that the individual had been serving alcohol to minors and he was arrested and charged accordingly.  Additional charges included the possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  After being transported to headquarters for processing, the man was released on his own recognizance and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.
