On August 4, 2011 as a result of a motor vehicle crash on Hiawatha Blvd. , Ptl. Catenacci arrested a 24 year old Oakland woman and charged her with driving under the influence of alcohol. She was transported to a local hospital where blood was drawn to determine the content of alcohol in her blood. She was later released into the custody of a responsible adult. Additional charges included driving under the influence of alcohol within a thousand feet of a school and careless driving. An August 2011 court date has been scheduled.
On August 5, 2011 at approximately 5:22 p.m. Ptl. McDermott and Ptl. Gary Fiore were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with reported injuries in the Shop-Rite parking lot. Upon arrival, the officers found that several patrons of Shop-Rite had subdued one of the drivers involved who was reported to be intoxicated and attempting to leave the scene after striking eight vehicles in the parking lot. The officers removed the 53 year old Oakland resident from her vehicle and subsequently placed her under arrest after she failed roadside sobriety tests. She was charged with driving on a suspended drivers license, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence of alcohol and assault by auto. She was released ROR and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court. Sgt. Sanzari assisted in the investigation.
