On December 1, 2012 an Oneida Avenue resident reported to Ptl. Dan Kern that when she recently attempted to utilize her ATM card she discovered that there were approximately $1000.00 in fraudulent charges made against it. The charges, all emanating out of the NYC area will be investigated by members of the detective bureau along with the assistance of TD Bank, fraud division.
On December 1, 2012 Ptl. Bryan Rowin and Ptl. Broek responded to a reported motor vehicle crash in the parking lot of the Lenape Valley Grill. Upon their arrival, the officers discovered that the 22 year old driver had crashed into a Belgian block wall and a decorative landscape tree. He showed visible signs of intoxication and was field tested at the scene by Ptl. Broek. After failing to successfully complete the tests the driver was arrested and transported to HQ where he submitted samples of his breath for chemical testing. Summonses were issued for driving under the influence of alcohol, D.W.I. in a school zone, operating an unregistered vehicle and reckless driving. He was released into the custody of a family member and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.
