On the Job – February 23


On February 5, 2011 several officers responded to an activated burglar alarm at a commercial business on Bauer Drive .  Their investigation at the scene revealed that a burglary had been thwarted by the alarm; and attempts were made by the suspects to remove a significant amount material from the establishment, specifically, rods made of phosphorous brass. Det./ Sgt. Robert DeBoer responded to the scene for processing and further investigation. On February 9, 2011 Det./Sgt. DeBoer and Det. Bart Pagerie issued arrest warrants for two suspects in connection with the burglary and theft.  The warrants resulted in the arrest of a 36 year old Paterson resident and a 35 year old Elizabeth, NJ resident, both of whom were subsequently transported to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of posting $50,000 bail. The complaints have been forwarded to the Bergen County Superior Court. Assisting in the investigation were Lt. C. Eldridge, Sgt. Coghlan, Ptl. O’Keefe and Ptl. Catenacci.

tdbankOn February 9, 2011 an Elmwood Park, NJ resident reported to Ptl. Broek that unauthorized withdrawals were made from his TD Bank checking account in Oakland .  The complainant reported that he never received a debit card in the mail for this particular account; however, $300.00 had been withdrawn from it without his consent or knowledge.  The matter remains under investigation by the detective bureau and bank security.
