On The Job – February 26, 2015


opdonthejob1FEBRUARY 17:  While on patrol Officer Bryan Rowin initiated a traffic stop behind Walgreens after observing an equipment violation on a vehicle traveling along West Oakland Avenue.  The stop resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old Oakland, NJ resident for Driving Under the Influence.  The male offender was processed and later released from custody with a court date set to later appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.

FEBRUARY 19:  A resident from Seminole Avenue reported being a victim of credit card fraud after she discovered multiple unapproved transactions on her account.  Officer Gary Gusterson handled the initial investigation.  Report taken and matter forwarded to the Detective Bureau.

FEBRUARY 19:  Officer Luis Gaviria located a 44-year-old female who was a wanted person by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department seated in the Oakland Municipal Court.  The offender was arrested, processed, and later turned over to the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department for final disposition.

FEBRUARY 19:  A resident from Manito Avenue reported being a victim of debit card fraud after she was discovered multiple unapproved transactions on her account.  Officer Michael Griffin handled the initial investigation.  Report taken and matter forwarded to the Detective Bureau.

FEBRUARY 21:  Officer Bart Pagerie investigated a walk in complaint regarding an Oakland resident being the victim of identity theft.  The resident stated that he came to discover that his identity was compromised when his social security number was used to open lines of credit in his name which were unapproved and done without his knowledge or consent. Report filed.
