On January 21, 2013 Officers Broek and Kern arrested a 50 year old male Oakland resident for the possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia after being dispatched to his home on an unrelated matter. While inside the residence, the officers observed in plain view on a desk a white powdery substance and numerous glassine packets containing suspected heroin residue along with miscellaneous articles of drug paraphernalia. The individual was later charged and released on his own recognizance. An initial court date was scheduled for January 31, 2013 in the Oakland Municipal Court.
On January 27, 2013 Officers’ Kern and Pianettini were dispatched to Radio Shack on a reported theft that had just occurred. The officers’ investigation revealed that a “Jawbone Jambox” speaker system valued at $199.99 was taken from the store by two males who fled the area in a green Dodge caravan bearing New York license plates. The suspects were not immediately located, however, the matter remains under investigation by the detective bureau.
